  • A presentation by a member, followed by open discussion

We know showing up somewhere new takes a bit of courage. Here’s what people usually want to know before they come.

None at all. Come as you are – casual is completely fine. Wear whatever makes you comfortable.

Not exactly. UU draws from Christian traditions among many others — but it is not a Christian denomination. You’ll find people here from many different faith backgrounds and none at all.

HUUF is a lay-led fellowship, which means we have no ordained minister. Members take turns leading gatherings.

You’re welcome to attend as many times as you like without any membership commitment.

The flaming chalice is the symbol of Unitarian Universalism worldwide. It represents the light of reason, the warmth of community, and the flame of commitment to justice. We light one at the start of each gathering.

Yes, children are welcome at our gatherings. We are a warm, family-friendly community. If you have questions about what to expect for your children specifically, feel free to reach out to us at info@huuf.ca before you come.
